The Herald (March 16) chose to place the story about waking and disturbing a mother bear and two cubs on the front page. However cute it may have seemed, the intrusion was cruel and insensitive; not only to the bears, but to the public as well.
This appears to be another waste of the public’s money and job creation. Should a private resident made such contact, the Parks and Wildlife would have placed a blue collar on them so they could track them!
