DAEC joins national campaign

Durango Adult Education Center joined the “Moving Ahead with Adult Ed” national campaign to enroll adult learners into programs that equip them with skills that lead to a high school equivalency diploma and jobs that pay a family-sustaining wage.

The centers in Durango and Cortez offer pathways leading to a GED and English as a Second Language classes, as well as a range of wraparound services geared for professional development, industry skills training, career exploration and financial literacy.

With facilities in Durango and Cortez serving adult learners across the five-county region of Southwest Colorado, the DAEC continues to offer live, tailored instruction and targeted tutoring through online video platforms.

Students lacking access to the necessary technology are equipped with the tools and internet signals needed to participate and learn. In some instances, students can access classrooms when at-home settings are unsuitable. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines and sanitation protocols are in place for limited on-site learning and tutoring to ensure a safe learning environment.

For more information or to register for GED or ESL classes, call 385-4354 in Durango or 564-7004 in Cortez.
