AURORA – A Colorado medical examiner said a middle school dean accused of bringing a handgun to school and threatening administrators in April has died.
The Sentinel reports that Denver Medical Examiner’s Office staffers pronounced 31-year-old Tushar Rae dead Monday at his home.
An exact cause and manner of death have not yet been determined.
Authorities said Rae was charged Oct. 21 with three felonies and one misdemeanor in Arapahoe County. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Aurora West Preparatory Academy dean also pleaded not guilty to two additional felony and three misdemeanor charges filed against him Oct. 3 in connection with a Denver case accusing him of making threats against an administrator weeks earlier.
School officials said Rae was on paid leave.
