In regard to Joy Bergman’s Sept. 6 letter, “Herald’s online censorship is disturbing,” I ask that you please, please censor all online comments to Herald articles.
I don’t care for one second what anyone else thinks about what you publish. If it isn’t a comment from someone telling how to become a millionaire, it’s a crude comment from someone who knows nothing about the content of the story, and sometimes it’s obvious he or she didn’t even read the whole article.
Apparently, Ms. Bergman had something really, really important to say about the Hispanic man who might just be “illegal.” Honestly, who cares?
As long as the guy is arrested and dealt with properly, why does it matter what his nationality or status is? My guess is that the deleted comments were exactly the rude, crude (and probably discriminatory) stuff I speak of.
People who have nothing better to do than live their fake “Facebook fantasy life” need to put the phone down and do something important in life. “Social media” is social nonsense.
