First off, Ms. Cure is the chair of La Plata County Democrats.
Claiming that President Trump threw a wrench into the negotiations for comprehensive immigration reform is a flat-out lie. It’s more like 1986, when President Reagan gave amnesty to over three million illegal immigrants in return for border security from the Democratic-controlled Congress and the Democrats went back on their word. Déjà vu all over again.
Ms. Cure obviously has blinders on when she walks through the City Market parking lot and doesn’t see the bumper stickers calling for the elimination of ICE and claiming that we don’t need borders.
When it comes to government aid, it appears that she has a selective memory as a recent edition of the Herald ran a story on how FLC students here illegally would be eligible for grants and scholarships.
Like all good progressive Democrats, Ms. Cure is more interested in doing whatever is necessary to thwart the president’s agenda rather than work for the good of the nation.
