Democratic challenger Karl Hanlon, who seeks U.S. Rep. Scott Tipton’s seat for the 3rd Congressional House District, will open an office in Durango to focus on voter education and mobilization for the June 26 primary.

The office will be located at 1911 Main Ave., said a news release from spokesman Max Doyle.

A grand opening at 5 p.m. and a volunteer training session at 6 p.m. will be held Wednesday at the office. A second volunteer training is also scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday.

Active Democratic and unaffiliated voters may vote for the Democratic or Republican slate of candidates in the primary.

The Durango office will coordinate with Democrats in Archuleta, Montezuma, San Juan and Dolores counties.
