A group of local Democrats, The Club – La Plata Dems on the Move, will hold its June luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. June 5 at the DoubleTree Hotel, 501 Camino del Rio.
Jeremy May from the Mountain Studies Institute will give a presentation titled “Climate Change in the San Juan Mountains and How it Relates to Drought.” During his presentation, May will discuss what the institute expects for the San Juan Mountains; how drought will impact agriculture, forest health and wildfires; and what climate change means for the area.
Tickets are $20 and must be purchased by Thursday.
