I found the opinion piece by the former chairman of La Plata County Democrats tone deaf in the extreme. The first half detailed all the accomplishments of the Biden administration that the majority of voters were apparently too stupid to appreciate. The second half harked back to Hillary Clinton’s endearing term “basket of deplorables” and blamed misogynists, racists, haters of immigrants and, of course, Fox News for the defeat. But whatever you do, “don’t blame Democrats or the Kamala Harris campaign ...”
One can only hope other Democratic Party leaders do more soul searching and come up with better policies, less condescension and fewer excuses. Otherwise, the future of the party looks grim.
