Democrats hide immigrant crime data

The attention-seeking Republican candidate, Donald Trump, has made an issue out of crimes committed by illegal aliens, and the responses from the left have been very interesting. As a general rule, the Democrats have made finding specific statistics about crimes committed by undocumented immigrants very difficult to find. Try to Google them.

The reason for these hidden statistics is that the Democrats have basically refused to implement the existing immigration laws for decades, resulting in what they risibly call a “broken immigration system.” So, Democrats realize if crimes by undocumented immigrants against U.S. citizens are publicly reported, the Democrats will take most of the blame.

I can remember a U.S. Border Patrol agent telling me in the 1970s how he was shocked the media wouldn’t report crimes against Americans because it might reflect badly on the immigrant-sympathizing left. It’s been going on for decades.

If you look at the statistics published by the U.S. Sentencing Commission (one of the few places you can get information on crimes, ethnicity, and nationality) for 2014, you’ll see that 42 percent of the crimes committed in the United States that year were committed by non-U.S. citizens. And that’s just the people who were caught and adjudicated; actual crime rates are much higher.

The real problem is that U.S. citizens are being murdered, raped and robbed, and so on, by undocumented immigrants, but the anti-American left and press seldom, if ever, mention the horrors inflicted on U.S. citizens.

They take the side of foreign nationals and actively campaign against the Republicans (including Trump, nominally) as if, in being concerned about U.S. citizens, conservatives are being mean and xenophobic. When is the last time you’ve seen your favorite media report on the crimes against Americans by undocumented immigrants? Who should Americans be concerned about? U.S. citizens or foreign nationals illegally in the country?
