I want to shout out to all the intrepid Democratic voters who plan to attend the Democratic caucus sessions on March 5. This year, we’ll be able to attend the caucus from the comfort of our homes via Zoom. If you’re undecided about attending, you have until March 3 to register at LaPlataDems.org.
The caucus is where the Democratic Party platform begins taking form, with citizens bringing their concerns to the table and persuading their neighbors into voting those proposals into bona fide resolutions that advance to the county assembly and hopefully onto the official 2022 Democratic platform.
That’s why I want share my proposal, if you like the idea, propose it at your precinct caucus, give it some momentum before going to the county assembly.
The short version: “Create a Democratic Party online discussion forum for reinvigorating constructive political dialogue, by Democrats, for Democrats. Empower your Democratic grassroots to get informed, network, thus enabling and nurturing a re-engagement with our political process.”
For all its faults, the Democratic Party is all we have! We need to focus on fixing it, rather than abandoning what little remaining political muscle we the people have.
