It continues to give me great pleasure that the diminished Durango Herald continues to print anti-Trump rhetoric and comics.
Specifically speaking, the McDonalds parody with “McConnellcare, over 22 million uninsured” and the baseless rant from Joanne Graves both on the same page (Herald, June 28).
Regarding the uninsured, this is largely because the imploding, failing Obamacare and its insurance penalties and mandates would go away, no longer forcing people to buy coverage that costs more than their mortgage payments.
Reality check, liberals, Obamacare is blowing up, going away, vaporizing before your eyes as states and counties continue to see insurance companies pulling out because it is not sustainable. Somewhere you failed to mention the new proposal would save the taxpayers $120 billion over the next 10 years by allowing people to pay for services they actually need and not subsidize those for others who seem to not be able to pay their own way.
Personally, I would opt for a total repeal, go back to private insurance markets and let those that are sick be put into high risk pools with those too lazy to work and get off Medicaid and pay their own way.
Now, on Graves rant, the reality is the Democrats got completely trounced in the last election at all levels, the state, the House, the Senate and the executive with an electoral college landslide.
America spoke, so stop all the liberal whining, regroup and figure out a real, coherent message.
