It was important for the Durango High school softball team to start Saturday’s game at Basalt off on the right foot.
The Demons (1-5) did just that, scoring five runs in the top of the first inning and riding a strong pitching performance from Lexy Vidunas for a 12-4 victory.
Vidunas struck out six in a complete game.
“The first inning set the tone for the day and hopefully for the next couple games,” DHS head coach Mike Cioppa said.
Mercy Lashway continued to lead the Demons’ offense with three runs batted in.
