There are several key races that will be decided Nov. 4 in Colorado. Like most other La Plata County residents, I would like to see and hear more from the candidates through debates and ads stating their position on various issues that will affect all Coloradans. We will be denied much of that opportunity because of the FCC and Nielsen-designated market area ruling that bans Denver television reception here. Every year, we hear our congressional delegation say they are working to solve this problem, but nothing is done. It is one thing to see the Broncos play, but the more important issue is, what happens in our state and federal governments that affect our everyday lives. Maybe it is time we send them a strong message about representation!
