The La Plata County Department of Human Services and director of the Foster Care Institute, Dr. John DeGarmo, will host the Annual Trauma, Neglect and Separation Training for community partners and foster/adoptive parents from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 1 at Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.
The training will include three sessions:
9 a.m. to noon: Supports and strategies for students in a school setting.1 to 3 p.m.: Trauma-informed caregiving, managing the impact to personal lives and preventing burnout. 3 to 5 p.m.: Proactive strategies for online safety.
