Yet another local outbreak of Trump Derangement Syndrome can be found in Gerry Fleming’s letter “
While the Herald’s publishing of this letter certainly supports our First Amendment right, the Herald staff could use a crash course in the definition of “libelous or tasteless” material.
It was a rambling collection of accusatory words – “murderous friend,” “son-of-a-Mitch (case closed) McConnell,’ etc. It’s an uneducated judge and jury, acting on desire and without proof. Now that sounds like a breach of our laws and rights. Give specific examples, please, of Constitutional changes and lawlessness of this administration.
The recent Fourth of July celebration was also pre-lauded by the media for “tanks in the streets,” “first step of our rights stripped by this dictator,” “it’s nothing more than a political rally of the far-right.” These were all Trump Derangement Syndrome prophecies that once again never came true.
How this letter writer has inside information of what advisors are to be trusted or not puzzles me. I spent five years in the Middle East engaged in the cultures, and what I can say is that it is far more complicated than simply thinking we would go to war for the Saudis.
It won’t be Fox News starting a war, it will more likely be unsubstantiated and inflammatory rhetoric freely distributed by the media.
