Desert phenomena

Courtesy of Friends of the Art Library<br><br>Graphic designer Mariah Richstone grew up in Durango, but she’s spent a good deal of time in recent years traveling to places like Bali and Joshua Tree National Park. Her new exhibit, “After,” expresses her experiences through encaustic, photo collage and photography pieces like this one, “Piano, Joshua Tree.” The show will open with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Durango Arts Center Art Library, 802 East Second Ave. upstairs.
