Dinosaur train to depart station two weekends in June

The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad will offer two weekends of dinosaur-themed train rides on “The T-Rex Express,” June 17-18 and June 24-25. Three trains each day, a total of 12, will depart and return to the railroad depot, 479 Main Ave.

Train rides will feature paleontologists from Fort Lewis College and New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science in Albuquerque, and participants will learn about dinosaurs, look at fossils and engage in dinosaur-themed activities.

Tickets are $32 for adults and $24 for children 2-11 years old, including an added historic-preservation fee. Parking is available for $8 per vehicle.
