The reasons for the demise of the Arc of History may well be for the reasons cited by art critic Judith Reynolds (Herald, Sept. 11).
But I think the public finds it a stretch to accept this mass of stones as art.
Reynolds cites the use of stones by the ancients to mark trails or graves.
I’m a Neanderthal when it comes to art, but the purposes Reynolds mentions, for me, are utilitarian, not aesthetic.
