Disagreement over demise of the Arc

The reasons for the demise of the Arc of History may well be for the reasons cited by art critic Judith Reynolds (Herald, Sept. 11).

But I think the public finds it a stretch to accept this mass of stones as art.

Reynolds cites the use of stones by the ancients to mark trails or graves.

I’m a Neanderthal when it comes to art, but the purposes Reynolds mentions, for me, are utilitarian, not aesthetic.
