For more than three months the American flag at the La Plata County baseball concession building waved its tattered and torn fabric for all to see; our citizens and tourists alike.
I had high hopes, yet minimal faith, that it would be replaced before America’s 241st birthday this year. Unfortunately, that did not happen until someone called to ask if it could be replaced.
If the county administrators, directors and supervisors cannot be responsible enough to display American flags with all due respect (read Old Main Post Office), then please spare us the embarrassment and shame and just take them down and the flagpoles with them.
