Papermaking Workshops at Durango Arts Center
The opening reception for “Washi & Other Ephemera: The Art of Hand Papermaking” will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday in the Barbara Conrad Gallery at Durango Arts Center, 802 East Second Ave. Some events and workshops associated with the exhibit require early registration. Saturday: “History of Hand Papermaking” by Timothy D. Barrett, two sessions: 10 a.m.-noon and 2-4 p.m. ($10, must RSVP).
Aug. 31: “Sidewalk Cloud” (Inryu= Cloud Dragon) with Mary Ellen Long, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., $65 members; $75 nonmembers (plus $10 materials fee)
Sept. 7: “Papermaking with Plants” with Mary Ellen Long, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., $65 members; $75 nonmembers (plus $5 materials fee)
Sept. 14: “Illuminated Paper Structures” with Helen Heibert, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., $65 members; $75 nonmembers (plus $20 materials fee)
