Amazingly enough, there is an apricot crop in this year of drought and early frost. They may not be as excellent as usual, but still an amazing bounty is to be found on many local trees.
Monday evening, July 2, one greedy and inconsiderate group of about 15 people took every last fruit to about 15 feet above the ground from a single tree that always produces some of the best apricots to be found. Just because you can gather 80-plus pounds of apricots from one tree does not mean you should. Please think of others, including homeless and needy people and wildlife.
