I am loyal and satisfied customer of Eno and Cyprus Café. I am dismayed by the Herald publishing a story of Alison Dance’s restaurant troubles (June 15) before the audit of her business is even complete. Why would you want shame and down-put a longtime and huge contributor to our community while she is in the middle of trying to right whatever inadvertent mistakes she made? Many of us business owners have probably made mistakes with our books, our employees and our policies.
Why wouldn’t we rally behind Alison, instead of muckraking? Cyprus was one of the first to use homegrown and local foods and continues to lead the way in that regard. Talk to her employees of 18 years and find out what it’s really like to work there. Cyprus has been around for a long time. It’s a wonderful venue with good food and good music. Let’s eat there more and support Alison working through this now, very unfortunate stress on her business.
