OK, let’s admit Archuleta County may have had a knee-jerk reaction and mouthy criticism of San Juan Basin Health during COVID-19. It appears now two years later, after nerves are less frayed, most Archuleta County residents still want Archuleta to be served by SJBH. So if Archuleta County is willing to eat crow and correct course. . .
Why does La Plata County continue to insist on dissolving the SJBH district and excluding Archuleta?
Will Archuleta County’s proposed new health district siphon off federal and state money from La Plata county, and the smaller version of SJBH?
Is the relationship between the two counties so frayed that common sense can’t prevail here?
Is this dissolution a pretext for La Plata County commissioners to “reign in” and downsize SJBH?
Forget Archuleta County. Will La Plata County residents be better served by dissolution and a smaller district? How so?
Citizens of both Archuleta and La Plata counties would like to know the answers to these questions before continuing the rush to dissolve SJBH.
