Douthat’s ‘arrogance is on full display’

Please no longer print the New York Times columnists. The latest from Ross Douthat (“There is still scandal around Biden,” Aug. 11) is such a snide and conceited piece as to be embarrassing. He starts with the attempted clever, yet indirect statement, “One of the Biden White House’s greatest achievements ...” and ignores all that was achieved by the Biden administration to poke at the lack of leaks. And yet, he never looks at the possibility that fewer people leaked because they had actual integrity and did not want to hurt the policies being achieved, as compared to the lying, cheating and threatening in TFG’s administration (“I only hire the greatest.”) that leaked like a hose while no policies were achieved. Remember “infrastructure week,” remember the “greatest health care plan”? All lies told to manipulate. TFG did none of those things. And the New York Times and Washington Post never reported the scandal that this lying was.

Douthat’s arrogance is on full display when he comments, “ ... assuming that (Harris) ever deigns to be interviewed …” Why would a smart woman vice president choose to be interviewed by such a covertly sarcastic man or paper? The New York Times has lost its position as the “paper of record” that they claimed for decades. Are they 1) lost in the swamp of false equivalency and some kind of arrogant post-woke “it is not our job to report on the dangers to Democracy”? Or 2) have they been bought off in the back room by oligarch money? And no reports on TFG’s delusional stream of lying.
