The driver of a black GMC Jimmy will be charged with four counts of careless driving causing injury following a crash on U. S. Highway 160 on Friday, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
GMC driver, Megan Lawson, 24, made a left from County Road 232 into on-coming traffic and a 2004 Dodge pickup truck hit the SUV, said Trooper Alisha Danko with Colorado State Patrol. The truck was eastbound.
Lawson had three passengers with her Tyler Eiman, 24; Ryan Burris, 27; and Benjamin Douglass, 34.
Douglass was treated and released from the hospital, Danko said.
Lawson is in good condition, Burris is in fair condition and Eiman has been discharged from the hospital, said David Bruzzese a spokesman for Mercy Regional Medical Center.
The driver of the pickup, Dustin Fransen, 28, had minor or unknown injuries, Danko said. He was taken to Mercy as a precaution, said Colorado State Patrol Trooper Sean Schlessman on Friday.
The two-car crash shut down Highway 160 for about 20 minutes.
A school bus was in the right-hand lane of eastbound traffic, and the pickup was passing it in the left-hand lane. The school bus was not involved in the accident, Schlessman said Friday.
