The city of Durango reminds drivers to be aware of snow routes to allow snowplows to clear snow and ice from residential roads.
Parking in designated snow routes is prohibited when more than 2 inches of snow has accumulated on roads. Vehicles parked in snow routes during winter conditions may be removed, and the owner will be subject to a $50 fine plus towing and storage costs.
People who will be out of town for extended periods of time should use off-street parking.
To find out if you are parked in a snow route, visit www.durangogov.org/snow, click on “Interactive Snow Route Map” and enter the address into the search bar, including city and state.
