The Durango School District 9-R Board of Education is accepting applications for a board opening until 4 p.m. Thursday from people living in Director District D who are interested in serving on the Board of Education from the date of appointment until the 2019 regular biennial school election.
To be eligible for the appointment, a candidate must have been a resident of the school district for the past 12 months, a registered voter of the school district and a current resident of Director District D.
A director district boundary map is available on the 9-R district website at http://durangoschools.org or from the 9-R Superintendent’s Office in the Central Administration Building, 201 E. 12th St.
Any person who wants to be considered for the appointment will need to file a letter of interest with the board clerk by 4 p.m. Thursday.
The letter should include information pertinent to qualifications and reasons for applying and should be submitted to: Sarah Berggren, Board Clerk, 201 East 12th St., Durango, CO 81301.
The board will interview prospective candidates at a public meeting at 5 p.m. Dec. 11.
