Durango Adult Education Center accepting applications for two positions

The Durango Adult Education Center is actively hiring for two positions: a part-time, evening math and science teacher and a full-time or part-time building manager.

The mission of the Durango Education Center is to fill educational gaps by providing the skills and knowledge necessary for livable careers, postsecondary education, and social and economic mobility.

The teaching position is for high school-level math and science for the purpose of preparing adult students for the high school equivalency exams, also called GED exams. Class sessions are eight weeks long, repeating four times per year. Class sizes are small and no grading is required. The building manager position is for The Commons building in Durango, which leases office space for several local nonprofits. The position requires general property maintenance, building safety, managing vendor contracts, and tracking tenant leases. Full-time employees are eligible for health insurance and paid time off.
