Durango Arts Center to host Nikola Tesla presentation

Durango Arts Center will host a Nikola Tesla presentation at 7 p.m. Thursday at the DAC, 802 East Second Ave.
A living history portrait of Tesla, the famous scientist, will be presented by Doug Mishler. The event is a Colorado Humanities and History Live presentation.

Tesla, a Serbian-American inventor, was instrumental in the design of the modern alternating current electricity supply system, which prevailed over Thomas Edison’s favored DC system. Called the “P.T. Barnum” of science, he was a prescient scientist, prolific inventor, popularizer and a remarkably flawed human being.

The event is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
