In the just concluded presidential campaign, Durangoans had once again voted for their silver champion, William Jennings Bryan. Alas, nationally he lost for the third and last time.

TAFT TO INVESTIGATE OUR WESTERN ROADS
Presidential Taft today took up the investigation agreed upon at once on the complaint that western railroads were discriminating against intermountain cities in the matter of freight rates and violating the anti-trust laws.

At 11:30 yesterday morning in the Perins Peak Coal Mine of the Calumet Fuel Co., Jas. Rodenbaugh was instantly killed by a cave-in. He and his partner were engaged in pulling a pillar when the cave-in occurred, deceased was a married man and leaves a wife and one child. He was 55 years of age.
