Durango baseball beats Roaring Fork

The Durango High School baseball team scored its second win in a row on Tuesday, beating the Roaring Fork Rams 14-3 at DHS.

Nine Durango players scored at least one run, and DHS ended the game in the fifth inning under the 10-run mercy rule.

Tanner Coddington had a big day at the plate for the Demons, going 3-3 with five RBIs and one run.

Jordan Stanley and Liam Southerland both drove in two runs and scored twice. Matt Pane drove in two and scored once.

Gavin Hamlin scored three runs, Brady Hansen twice, and Tagert Bardin, Ian Szura and Michael Benner also touched home safely.

Pitcher JJ Hoerl threw for four innings, allowing four hits and three runs (two earned) while walking one and striking out one. AJ Folk threw one inning, striking out one and walking three, but giving up no hits and no runs.

The Demons improved to 5-16 overall, and Roaring Fork slipped to 8-13.

Durango will next play a doubleheader at Grand Junction Central (10-11) on Saturday to conclude its regular season.
