After watching the Durango High School girls basketball team lose a first-half lead in a three-point loss to Grand Junction Central, the DHS boys flipped that script on the Warriors in the following game.
Durango (5-4, 2-2 5A/4A Southwestern League) trailed 10-4 after one quarter and 20-16 at halftime but dominated Grand Junction Central 29-13 in the second half to take a 45-33 home win Saturday.
Anthony Flint scored 18 points for DHS on 5-of-11 shooting. Walter Stauffer had a third consecutive big game with 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting. Eight Demons scored in the win.
Stauffer made it a double-double with 13 rebounds, while he also blocked three shots.
DHS will play a non-league game at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Pagosa Springs (4-5) before returning home Friday and Saturday for league showdowns with Fruita Monument and Grand Junction, respectively.
