The Durango Botanic Gardens welcomes Sharon Matheson as the newest member of the board. With a B.S. in forestry from Northern Arizona University and a M.S. in Natural Resources Planning from the University of Arizona, Matheson brings a wealth of experience in natural resources and environmental consulting. Her career has spanned from the U.S. Forest Service to co-owning a consulting business, conducting biological and wetland studies, and later serving for 17 years as Durango High School’s registrar.
A longtime supporter and active volunteer, Matheson is a Master Gardener, a lifetime member of DBG and a familiar face in the gardens most Saturday mornings with the maintenance team. She also leads the Fall Bulb Sale.
