Durango Botanic Gardens thanks sponsors, volunteers

On Saturday, June 25, Durango Botanic Gardens held its annual Gardens on Tour. This was our biggest year yet thanks to so many wonderful people. There were nine private gardens and the homeowners worked tirelessly preparing their gardens for the influx of over 400 visitors! Music was provided at two of the gardens by Stillwater and Michael McGuffey. The almost 30 volunteers came from not only our own docent ranks, but the community in general.

Our major sponsors were Bank of the San Juans, Durango Hot Springs, Smart Enterprises and First Southwest Bank as well as 10 other local businesses. These sponsorships not only pay expenses for the tour but allow DBG to continue maintenance of the existing gardens and provide expansion of new garden areas.

This tour does not happen without an entire network of people, and we thank each and every one of you for your participation and support. Feel free to visit our website at durangobotanicgardens.org to explore all the activities planned or to check out our newest garden – the Literary Garden. This is a great space to inspire not only gardeners, but readers, young and old alike! If you are interested in a personal tour, call us at 880-4841.
