Durango Botanic Gardens to host climate change conference

Durango Botanic Gardens will produce an online conference about climate change in Southwest Colorado, “Adapting Landscapes in the Four Corners to a Changing Climate,” starting Saturday, with a town hall discussion Dec. 5.

The conference will include two parts. Registrants may access prerecorded presentations of seven conference speakers, including experts in climatology, water conservation and urban forests.

The goal of the conference is to bring the global phenomena of climate change down to the local level. Speakers will discuss the science of climate change, water issues in the Four Corners and tips for designing yards for better water retention.

The town-hall discussion will include time for conference speakers to take questions from registrants.
