Durango Botanical Society recently recognized its docents, who volunteer at events and programs and conduct tours of Durango Botanic Gardens, during a luncheon at Dalton Ranch.
Awards were presented to: Barb Johnson for most hours worked in 2017, Tish Varney for most meaningful contribution in 2017, Susan Ostendorp and Jenny Nedergard for contributing to the mission of education, Lynn Mitzlaff for contributing to garden maintenance and Cheryl Lynn for her past contribution to the success of the annual bulb sale.
Tours of the gardens, located behind Durango Public Library along the Animas River Trail, run from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturdays April through September.
