DuranGO! bus service will operate extended hours on New Year’s Eve

Durango Transit will offer a free safe-ride option on New Year’s Eve within city limits until 2 a.m. through DuranGO!, Durango Transit’s evening on-demand service.

The door-to-door service will operate extended hours for free from 5 p.m. Tuesday to 2 a.m. Wednesday..

Free rides and extended service hours are funded through a partnership with Ride Responsible, a program of the School Community Youth Collaborative. Their mission is to provide a safe way home to reduce the amount of impaired driving in our community.

To access DuranGO!, download the dedicated app called “DuranGO!” which is available on both iOS and Android platforms. The app guides passengers through the booking process, allowing them to request rides within the service area. Durango Transit expects a high volume of riders on New Year’s Eve and will double the number of evening buses on the road. Note that rides are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
