As Durango works to boost its economic growth, we see a lack of the skill that makes businesses succeed: customer service.
This is a reminder to all small town businesses to perfect the basics of customer service and make the local people happy with what you are providing.
Not a day I am willing to stick around for, but in 30 years, I hope a glistening light shines down on this mountain town. Maybe a veterinary office will rethink fighting in the lobby with a customer.
It is difficult enough to get through the city planning department and actually begin your business; don’t ruin your own dream by having no customer compassion.
When I lay down at night, I dream that the city of Durango hires a customer service consultant for all the businesses lacking in the people persuasion department. At the end of the day, actual human beings in search of your goods and services is the only way you can trade your salt.
Use your people skills wisely.
