Durango Chautauqua presents Tubman, Madison

Durango Chautauqua will feature history professor Bill Worley performing as fourth president James Madison at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Durango Arts Center, 802 East Second Ave. Worley will deliver “Straight from the Founder’s Mouth: The Constitution and Bill of Rights.”

Chautauqua will also feature Becky Stone as Civil War heroine Harriet Tubman, who was born a slave and became an important “conductor” on the Underground Railroad, at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Durango Arts Center. Stone will present “A Great American Journey: Harriet Tubman.”

Both performances are free (donations accepted), and doors open at 6:30 p.m. For more information, visit http://coloradohumanities.org.
