A six-class series called “Dharma and Awakening for Ordinary People” will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays starting Jan. 17 at Durango Dharma Center, 1800 East Third Ave.
The book After Buddhism: Rethinking the Dharma for a Secular Age by Stephen Batchelor will guide classes, and participants will deepen their understanding of the Buddha’s teachings and learn how to practice them. The series will incorporate mindfulness practices, didactic lessons, group exercises and discussion.
Cost is based on a $45-$85 sliding scale, plus a donation for the teacher.
