The Durango Education Foundation is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a Durango High School student planning to study light-truck and automotive mechanics in a post-secondary setting.

Applicants must be graduating from a Durango School District high school program or anticipate receiving a GED from Durango Adult Education Center in 2017.

The application deadline is Feb. 1.

Scholarship funding is provided by the Morehart Murphy Regional Auto Center.
