Durango Elks Lodge announces its 15 scholarship awards and one Colorado Elks Association Grant. Recipients were selected based on leadership accomplishments, academic achievement and financial need.
- $1,000 lodge scholarships were awarded to: Maya Olivier, Desiree Parker, Anthony Flint, Grace Martinez, Casey Reed, Carly Piccoli, Mason Turner and Madison Hening (Durango High School); Nell Taylor and Rachel Smith (Pagosa Springs High School); Kobe Prior (Bayfield High School) and Alexis Pontine (Ignacio High School).
- $1,000 Fred Zimmerman Memorial Scholarships were awarded to Kadence Persons (Durango High School) and Cael Schaefer (Bayfield High School).
- $1,000 Durango Elks Lodge Veterans Committee Scholarship was awarded to Lorelai Brunner (Animas High School).
- $1,000 Colorado Elks Association Grant was awarded to Thomas Pope (Durango High School).
