Ullr and Skadi, also known as the Scandinavian god and goddess of snow/winter sports, are often called upon at the beginning of winter (Dec. 21) for a good winter/snow. As we are not off to a great start, we will do this sooner than later in the season and play some music, burn some skis in our burn barrel and toast to the mythical legends of winter in hopes they will deliver us the precipitation much needed to snowmobile, cross country ski, snowshoe and dogsled.
