Highlight of the week

Put your next rafting trip toward a good cause. Mild to Wild will host Raft for Hope, a fundraising float in memory of Taylor Jesse Lau, at 5 p.m. Sunday on the Animas River.

Lau was born and raised in Durango and worked as a server at The Palace, Mild to Wild as a raft guide and at Purgatory Resort as a ski instructor. He was pursuing his nursing career at San Juan College.

The trip costs $56 and proceeds will benefit Grief Center of Southwest Colorado, prevention and private scholarships for counseling and addiction.
