Cyclists of all ages and skill levels are invited to participate in Spoketober’s Group Fun Ride from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
The party starts at 11 a.m. at Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College, where cyclists will converge for a group ride from the college to Buckley Park in downtown Durango.
Local radio stations will be playing music, and local businesses and organizations will have booths with information, prizes and more. The “Looking Back, Racing Ahead: 50 Years of the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic and Durango Cycling Culture” exhibit at Center of Southwest Studies will be open at 11 a.m. Sunday before the Group Fun Ride.
Riders are encouraged to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness month. The Durango Police Department will provide rolling road closures so bikes can safely take over the roads. Members of the FLC Cycling Team will act as guides with riders at the front and back of the group.
