Maestro Thomas Hauser of the San Juan Symphony will discuss “The Magic of Mozart” at 6 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 2) at Powerhouse Science Center, Camino del Rio. The talk is free.
The discussion comes ahead of the symphony’s performance this weekend in Farmington and Durango.
The composer’s final musical statement, “Requiem Mass,” will be a collaboration between the San Juan Symphony, the Durango Choral Society, the Caliente Singers of Farmington and the Fort Lewis College Chamber Choir for the performance. This incomplete composition has a complex and mysterious history that can only be given its due by an expert.
