Highlight of the week

College hill will be alive with the sound of music at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College, 1000 Rim Drive, with “Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music.”

The show is a screening of the classic Julie Andrews film musical in full-screen Technicolor, complete with lyric subtitles, so the whole audience can sing along.

Based on the real life story of the Von Trapp Family singers, “Sound of Music” is filled with such timeless Rodgers and Hammerstein songs such as “Do-RE-Mi,” “My Favorite Things,” “Edelweiss,” “So Long Farewell” and, of course, “The Sound of Music.”

The evening will begin with the show’s host leading a vocal warm-up, judging the fancy dress competition and teaching audience members how to use items in their free interactive props bag.

Tickets cost $18 to $30.
