Merely Players will open its latest production “Bright Star” at 7 p.m. Friday at Merely Underground, 789 Tech Center Drive.
“Bright Star“ is inspired by a true story and featuring a bluegrass score by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell. The award-winning musical tells a sweeping and unabashedly romantic tale of love and redemption set against the rich backdrop of the American South early last century.
Alternating lead roles will be a feature of this show. Katie Dittelberger, Hallie Denman and Lori Fisher will play large roles on Thursdays and Fridays. Gyana Bandy Gomar, Brin DeVore and Melissa Mossinghoff play large roles on Saturdays and Sundays.
