Highlight of the Week

Durango Craft Spirits is once again the place where iAM MUSIC will take over for an afternoon/evening of performances. There will be two shows on Saturday: an early show from 3:30 to 6 p.m., and a late option from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the distillery, 1120 Main Ave., Ste. 2. The fest will feature the Stillhouse Junkies, Taarka and Dana Ariel. Tickets for the early show are $10 general admission or $100 for a four- or five-person table. Durango-Farmington Bicycle Tour, 7:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m., from Cundiff Park to San Juan College, Farmington. $100, $125 after Oct. 1. The route follows La Posta Road then U.S. Highway 550 across the state line. Riders will then follow gas field roads and singletrack though Kiffen Canyon to finish the ride in the Farmington Glade Trail System. Pumpkin Carving Contest and Pumpkin Glow, 6 p.m., The Weminuche Woodfire Grill, 18044 County Road 501, Bayfield. Stop by the restaurant anytime between now and Oct. 23 and buy a pumpkin for $5 (while supplies last). Bring it back at 6 p.m. Oct. 23 carved and with a candle for the contest and the pumpkin glow. Proceeds will go to Vallecito local causes. Bring your own pumpkin as well, we simply ask for a $5 contest entry fee, which you can pay for at the event.
