Highlight of the Week

Dancing Earth’s touring production, “Between Underground and Skyworld” will be staged Saturday night at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College. It’s a transformative, multidisciplinary performance that follows five young backpackers through an epic journey to survive the apocalypse by seeking ancestral knowledge. It’s a tale of migration across mountains, water and rainbows to dream up a future of reconnection and integration for a more balanced life on Earth. Dancing Earth Creations, under the leadership of Rulan Tangen, dynamically activates contemporary dance and related arts through global Indigenous and intercultural relationships centered in ecological and cultural diversity for creativity, health and wellness. “Between Underground and Skyworld” will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Community Concert Hall, 1000 Rim Drive. Tickets cost $18 to $20 and are available along with more information online at www.durangoconcerts.com.
